Weekly update – England

A brief update from Nick, the Director of Policy for Genetic Alliance UK about what we’ve been working on this week:

• We’re analysing the UK data from the EURORDIS Rare Barometer survey on Covid-19. We’re going to bring this together with voices from our membership and our weekly check-ins to form an impact report for Covid-19 on the genetic, rare and undiagnsoed community.
• Our CEO Jayne Spink has written a blog post discussing the impact of Covid-19 on Genetic Alliance UK and why it is vital for CEOs and leaders of organisations supporting people and families with genetic, rare and undiagnosed genetic conditions to complete our CEO’s survey.
• We hope a clinician from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) will join our community check-in next Tuesday at 10am to discuss the updated shielding guidance from RCPCH. Email Covid-19@geneticalliance.org.uk for joining instructions.
