During the current lockdown period in Wales, no one can leave their home/ place where they’re living or remain away from that place without reasonable excuse.
The exhaustive list of what constitutes a ‘reasonable excuse’ can be found here.
These include leaving home to buy food and collect essential medicines, exercise once a day, seek medical assistance, provide care or assistance, to donate blood and for the purposes of essential work.
Guidance on Regulation 8 of the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020 was updated on 24 April. Changes mean that if you have a specific health condition or disability, including learning disabilities, autism, dementia or other mental health conditions and would benefit from more frequent exercise outdoors, this would be a reasonable excuse to leave home. Carers are also permitted to accompany you.
Other changes if you have a specific health or mobility issue mean you are now permitted to travel from your home in order to exercise. The journey should be the nearest convenient accessible location and no long journeys should be undertaken unless absolutely necessary.
